Region 3 Playoffs Falcons end Cubs season with a late touchdown MISSION – Chamberlain entered the 2009 football playoffs with hopes of getting their second win of the season Tuesday night. The Todd County Falcons had other ideas and avenged the prior week’s loss, tumbling the Cubs in the last seconds of the game, 12-6.
A defensive battle from start to finish, Todd County took a 6-0 lead into halftime. Neither team scored in the third quarter.
The Cubs hit pay dirt in the fourth quarter on a five-yard touchdown run by Michael Langdeau. Langdeau ran for 215 yards on the night.
Tied 6-6 with less than a minute left in regulation, Falcon’s Austin Colombe caught a 70-yard touchdown pass to give Todd County the lead and the win.
Quarterback Tyson Langdeau had 65 yards passing on the night. The Falcons had three interceptions.
With the win, Todd County advanced to the second round to meet Pine Ridge Monday night. The Cubs finish the 2009 campaign with a 1-8 record.
