Mid-Dakota Hosts H1N1 shot clinics in Kimball, Chamberlain
The State of South Dakota, Sanford Mid-Dakota Medical Center and Avera Community Clinic will be hosting a free H1N1 vaccination clinic Monday, November 16 from 2 pm – 6 pm. The clinics will be held from 2 pm – 6 pm at the Kimball School’s Kiote Den and at the Chamberlain Armory.

The clinic is open to Brule County residents who fall into the target groups listed below in Tier 1 and Tier 2 as recommended by the Centers for Disease Control.
Tier 1 • Pregnant women • People living with or carring for infants younger than 6 months • Kids 6 mos. to 4 years • Kids 5 to 18 years of age with chronic health conditions such as diabetes or asthma • Health care and emergency medical services workers
Tier 2 • Kids 5 to 18 years • Adults 25 to 64 with chronic health conditions such as diabetes or asthma • Young adults 19 to 24 years of age
These are the only groups eligible for the vaccination. Participants will be screened for eligibility and paperwork must be completed before the vaccination is given. Parents or guardians must accompany all children under age 18. Everybody vaccinated must stay for 15 minutes after the vaccination to be observed for adverse reactions. The entire process will take at least 30 minutes per person.
