Local Students Awarded Sanford Mid-Dakota Healthcare Career Scholarships

Sanford Mid-Dakota Medical Center partnered with the Sanford Health Foundation to offer $2,000 scholarships to two area students who have decided to make healthcare their career.
 
051309_erica_swanson.jpgErica Swanson – Chamberlain High School. Erica plans to major in Pre-Pharmacy at SDSU.

Megan Meier – Lyman High School. Morgan plans to attend SDSU and major in nursing.

In addition, Sanford Mid-Dakota also awarded three $500 academic scholarships to graduating seniors from area high schools. These students are also pursuing their education in the healthcare industry.
The Sanford Mid-Dakota Medical Center Scholarship Program is available to eligible students of the Chamberlain, Kimball, Lyman County, Fort Thompson, Lower Brule and Crow Creek School systems for those students who are seeking a career in the healthcare industry.
 
Applicants must be a member of the high school graduating senior class of the above school systems for the year in which they are applying. They must be preparing for education in the healthcare industry, and must graduate from high school with a grade average of a “C”.
The 2009 Sanford Mid-Dakota Medical Center Scholarship recipients are:
 
051309_joe_hieb.jpgJoe Hieb – Chamberlain High School. Joe plans to major in Physical Therapy at Mt. Marty College in Yankton.
















051309_amanda_larson.jpgAmanda Larson – Kimball High School. Amanda plans to become a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer after getting her degree from Southeast Technical Institute.
