One Act to Perform at State
In “I Never Saw Another Butterfly” - the CHS one act performance on Saturday, Jan. 30 - characters tell the story of the Holocaust through children’s eyes as they are held in a concentration camp. Here, the Nazi German soldiers force the Jewish to leave their homes, friend and family for Terezin.Under direction of Trisha Burke and Holly Pusch, the one act took second place at region.
Superior Acting Awards went to Debbi Jones and Lizzie VanErt. Those receiving acting nominations were Nathan Iversen, Tanner Hall and Lashana Leiferman. Chamberlain students will perform at state at Brandon Valley High School on Thursday, Feb. 4 at 4:15 pm.
The one act also performed Monday night as part of a special performance at Brandon with other Sioux Falls area schools. State competition runs February 4-6.

Main character Raza (Debbi Jones) and special friend Honza (Nathan Iversen) share their sad goodbyes. The story is told through Raza’s perspective, based on a true story.
