Chamberlain commission approves golf course funding request
City Engineer Greg Powell informed commissioners at the Monday night meeting that the Chamberlain city golf course will be needing another bridge, due to the 2018 Master Plan that calls for the green at hole #8 to be moved across the creek. Powell presented a proposal for a 70 or 80 feet by six feet wide bridge to be constructed by Big Sky Pipe and Supply out of Montana. The company is asking for a 50% down payment of the estimated $12,000-$14,000 cost of the bridge. Foundation work is scheduled to begin September 1 and is expected to take four to six weeks to complete. Other construction costs such as an engineering stamp and the bridge set-up will bring the price of the project up to approximately $20,000. The city has received a $400,000 Barger Foundation grant over a five year period for the golf course renovation project.
