First River City Friday Night set for June 19
River City Friday Nights - Bridging Families & Communities is set to start this Friday, June 19 and run for the next three Friday nights – June 26th, July 3rd and July 10. Chamberlain’s Main Street from Lawler to Beebe Avenue will be closed for the event that runs from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m.
This marks the fourth year for the RCFN, a family fun event, started by a group of community people, business owners and other individuals from the Chamberlain/Oacoma area to provide a summer activity that would unite local businesses, families and the communities.
Committee members know this year’s event will be different due to COVID-19 and will follow the CDC recommended practices and encourage those attending to practice social distancing and good hygiene. Stay home if you’re sick, wear a mask if that makes you feel more comfortable or consider not attending if health conditions make you more vulnerable to this virus.
“This has been a difficult year for everyone,” said committee president Mollie Harmon. “We want to offer this event but still practice good safety measures. There will be four hand sanitizing stations located along the street, and vendors will be spaced further apart.”
Activities for the first RCFN event include;
*Remote control car races sponsored by Riverview Chevrolet.
