Lady Cubs dominate Phillip Scotties

Chamberlain's Lady Cubs scored 27 points in the opening quarter against the Phillip Scotties at the Chamberlain Armory on Mon., Feb. 3. The other three quarters were close, but the Cubs' lead in the first period helped them win the game, 64-41.

The Cubs were ahead, 10- 3 early in the game. Phillip slowly chipped away at the lead but were never able to make up the ten-point advantage. Jayd Chmela came off the bench near the end of the period to put up a quick five points to give the Lady Cubs their 27-13 lead.

In the second quarter, Emma Powers' trey put the Cubs ahead by 16. Hannah Anderson made an “oldfashioned” three-point play to give the Cubs a 38-21 lead. Makenzy Mutziger hit her shot from outside the arch to put the Cubs to finish the first half, 41-23.
