Lady Cubs win first play-off game

The Regions 6A playoff game between the Mobridge\ Pollock Tigers and the Lady Cubs took place on Mon., Mar. 2, in Mobridge. The Lady Cubs won the first battle in post-season by a score of 54-35.

The first quarter started off with both teams struggling offensively. Hannah Anderson and Makenzy Mutziger scored two and three points respectively to to give the Lady Cubs a 6-4 lead. At the buzzer, the Lady Tigers earned two points from the line to tie the game 6-6.

In the second period, the teams were knotted at 8-8 three minutes into the quarter. From then on through the period, the teams battled back and forth with the Lady Cubs taking a 15-12 lead until the Lady Tigers hit a trey to tie the game again, 15-15. Mobridge/ Pollock earned two points from the line to take the lead, but Caycee Guinn was also fouled and earned two points from the charity stripe With 17 seconds in the period, Mutziger hit a field goal to tie the game at 17.
