Oacoma Board approves house moving request

At the Monday night Oacoma Town Board meeting, the board approved a request from Tony and Heidi Nogy for a conditional use permit and variance to move an existing house from 24792 339th Ave. to 208 E. Main St.

On April 16, 2018, the Oacoma Planning Commission had conducted a public hearing to consider the application for the Nogy’s request to move the single-family dwelling with attached garage. No one was present to offer opposing testimony, and the structure was deemed to be in good condition; therefore meeting the requirements for moving in a preexisting structure onto a vacant lot. The Nogy’s also requested a variance to the required 15 foot front yard setback at 208 E. Main St., a corner lot, asking for a front yard setback of 11 feet so that the house would be able to face south toward the river instead of east toward an abandoned trailer house.
