Official order of the City of Chamberlain

The Chamberlain City Commission held a special meeting Tuesday, March 24 to consider Governor Kristi Noem's recently released Executive Order in regards to COVID-19 and what municipal governing bodies need to do.
Following nearly a hour of discussion the members of the Chamberlain City Commission passed the following official order.

Official Order by the Council of the City of Chamberlain:

1. Effective at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday March 25, 2020, all restaurants, food courts, coffee houses, bars, clubs, cafes and other similar places of public accommodation offering food and beverages for on-site consumption, including any alcohol licensees with on-sale privileges, are limited to 10 customers having a sit down meal as on-site/on-sale patrons. Any business having an alcohol license and not serving meals must discontinue alcohol sales.
These food service businesses may also operate in order to provide take-out, delivery, curbside service, and drive-thru service. Any business continuing to operate in order to provide off-site service should implement procedures to ensure social distancing and operate in compliance with federal and state health guidance in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19. This regulation will remain in effect through Monday April 6, 2020.
This was approved by an unanimous vote of the commission.

2. Effective at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday March 25, 2020, all recreational facilities, convention facilities, athletic facilities and movie theaters are directed to close and cease operations. This closure will remain in effect through Monday, April 6, 2020.

3. Effective at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 25, 2020 the bowling alley is directed to limit its activities to 10 customers in order to finish out league activities and then close and cease operations through Monday, April 6, 2020.
This two measures above were approved by a 3 to 2 vote of the commission with Clint Soulek and Tim Thomas apposed.

While the Council is not taking action on additional businesses other than those listed above, it is recommended that the following actions be implemented:

Practice proper hygiene.
Practice social-distancing
Practice self-isolation.
No groups of 10 or more people
Stay at home and contact your medical provider if you have symptoms.
