Sealed bids to be accepted for Kimball property
Brule county commissioners accepted the tax deed from the treasurer for a Kimball property located at 216 East Willis St., (Lot 7 & 8 Blk 2, 33’ Vacated St.) at last Tuesday’s meeting. The property’s appraised value is between $12,000 and $14,000. By law, the county needs to receive 90 percent ($10,800) of the appraised value. The county will advertise the surplus property and sell by sealed bids, to be opened December 18, 2018.
Emergency Manager Kathryn Benton advised the commissioners that the Pre Disaster Mitigation Plan needs to be updated, a requirement every five years. A FEMA/District III grant, up to $8,000, is available to update the plan.
