Severe Thunderstorm warnings set off sirens in Brule Co.
Emergency sirens went off Saturday night in Brule County due to the possibility of strong wind gusts capable of causing damage to trees and structures. The siren meant people should be alert to weather conditions. Brule County Emergency Manager Katheryn Benton would like to remind residents there are two tones used for warnings:
Alert: it will be a steady blast for three to five minutes in duration. When you hear this sound it will mean, “Attention,” you should tune in to your local radio or TV station for more information concerning a severe weather event in your area.
