Storm shelter progresses in Pukwana

The storm shelter was discussed at the Pukwana Town Council meeting Monday evening. Larry McManus, Board Chairman, returned a quarterly report to the Federal Emergency Management Administration of the progress of the storm shelter site. Delbert Shields, maintenance, has started working on the site by removing the old concrete slabs and moving some of the dirt. The fuel tank has been moved out of the way.

Tode Reuer delivered two loads of red rock which will be laid at the shelter site. Any remaining gravel will be used in other town projects. The estimated 150 tons of gravel cost toroughly $9 per ton or $1,350.
