Treehouse roots run deep in Chamberlain
Forty years ago, in 1979, a group of Chamberlain community members decided to open a non-denominational pre-school at the Trinity Lutheran Church. They would call it ‘Treehouse’, and the late Rosalie Aas was the first teacher.
In an early newspaper article, former teacher Carlene Petersen described their mission. “Treehouse, Inc. is a non-profit organization which has provided an enrichment program for children ages three to five. Treehouse’s goals are to help children develop a positive attitude towards learning, and develop self-control and a sense of belonging, as well as providing a place where children can interact with children their own age.”
