Thirty-one teams participated in the annual Ladies Only Fishing Tournament, a fundraiser for the local cancer care fund. The Chamberlain Country Club suffered extensive damage this spring due to flooding that washed out the bridge that crossed American Creek.

A replacement bridge has been found and an anonymous individual made a donation to purchase the bridge and move it to the golf course. Brule County's new emergency siren system, that was installed at the end of 2018, was activated Sunday night due to threatening weather in the area. The siren can be activated several different ways, by local fire departments, trained weather spotters or by warnings issued by the National Weather Service.
