City thanks Jurgensen for years of service
proclamation marking June 4, 2018 as Larry Jurgensen Day in Chamberlain was read by Mayor Chad Mutziger at the Monday night Chamberlain City Commission meeting. Jurgensen was recognized for his years of service on the commission and for his part in the airport improvements, new swimming pool, new community center, and recent land acquisitions for the city to name a few. Jurgensen thanked his fellow commissioners and said,
“I really enjoyed it and I did it for the fact I hope to make a difference for the community- things come up and we just have to keep moving forward. Today I drove down Main Street at 11:00.... people are in town and there was not a place to park until you got down to the Lewis Drug.” Jurgensen’s term is expiring and no new nominating petitions were filed for the position. Hannah Ruhlman was appointed by the commission to fill the vacancy until next year’s election.
