Funeral services for Donald M. Brown, 82, of Flint, TX were held 10:00 am Saturday, May 6, 2017 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Chamberlain with burial in the Riverview Cemetery at Chamberlain. Donald Morris Brown was born May 9, 1934 to Ralph Ector and Jewel (Eidson) Brown in Atlanta, GA. He was raised in Atlanta attending high school and later Georgia Institute of Technology where he received his B.S. in Industrial Management and minor in Civil Engineering. On August 28, 1953, Donald enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He went to San Diego, CA for boot camp and then was stationed at Davisville, RI, Gitmo Bay, Cuba, French Morocco, Argencia Newfoundland, Cape Hatteras, NC, and Barbados Island. He served in the NAVY Sea Bees as a Construction Mechanic, Petty Officer 2nd Class. He was Honorably Discharged on July 8, 1957. On July 22, 1961, Donald was united in marriage to Donna Jeanne Nervig at Luverne, MN. To this union three children were born Donald Todd, Tracy Jo, and Tami Jill. Donald was employed as a Civil Engineer with Brown & Root, Inc., Austin Power, and later DFW International Airport. Donald enjoyed hunting deer, elk, antelope and pheasant. He liked going to the gym to work out with his friends. He loved the time spent with Donna over their 56 years of marriage whether it be collecting antiques or dominoes. Donald passed away on April 29, 2017 at Tyler, TX at the age of 82 years. Gratefully sharing his life are his wife Donna Brown of Tyler, TX; son Todd (Mike Hecimovich) Brown of Roseville, CA; two daughters Tracy Brown of New York, NY and Tami (Richard) Ameen of Cypress, TX; and three grandchildren Chase Anthony Casanova, Alexander Owen Ameen, and Samantha Nicole Ameen. Preceding him in death were his parents.
