Funeral services for Ellsworth M. LaRoche, 37, of Lower Brule will be 1:00 pm Thursday, May 24, 2018 at the Lower Brule Community Center in Lower Brule with burial in the Jandreau Family Plot in Lower Brule. Wake services will be Tuesday and Wednesday evening at 8:00 pm at the Lower Brule Community Center in Lower Brule. Ellsworth M. LaRoche, 37, of Lower Brule passed away on May 18, 2018 at Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD. Ellsworth Michael LaRoche was born December 7, 1980 to Emery Flute and Lana LaRoche in Lower Brule, SD. He attended school in Lower Brule Headstart through high school. After leaving school, he worked various jobs throughout his life. He lived in numerous places such as Mitchell, Huron, and Sioux Falls until he returned to Lower Brule. Ellsworth, known to everyone as “houndy”, was one of a kind with one hell of a sense of humor. He enjoyed playing cards, pool, horse shoes, and joking around making people laugh. He loved to dance. He could turn anybody’s day around. He had that ability to lighten anyone’s mood. He was very talented with his hands. He can take anything apart and put it back together just because he was bored. Ellsworth had no kids of his own but raised two little girls as his own: Juliana and Vannah. Ellsworth is survived by his dad Emery Flute; love of his life Twyla Battese; four sisters Valerie Big Eagle, Latonn LaRoche, Kayla Flute, Sonni Flute, and a brother Ervin Flute, Jr. Preceding him in death were his beloved mother Lana LaRoche; auntys Robin, Jackie, and Rita; his uncles Sam, Louie, Irving Flute, and Clinton Flute; his grandparents Shirley Flute, Tony LaRoche, and Velda Langdeau; and special cousins Michelle, Billy, and Juanita.
