Lloyd Stanley Eiseman
Lloyd Stanley Eiseman, 88, passed away January 19, 2018 at Fort Meade Medical Center. He was born on January 6, 1930 on a farm located south of Eureka, South Dakota to Jacob and Rosa (Junker) Eiseman. He attended elementary school at a rural school south of Eureka. He graduated from Eureka High School in 1947. Lloyd taught at a rural school south of Eureka from 1947 to 1952. In 1952 he joined the US Army and served in the Korean War. He was honorably discharged in 1954. Upon returning to South Dakota, Lloyd enrolled in the Aberdeen School of Commerce and received his Associates Degree in Accounting, in 1955. He worked for Standard Oil in Mitchell and later in Huron until 1957. On March 10, 1957 Lloyd married Virginia Wigington of Huron. To this marriage four children, Alvin, Paul, Darrell, and Lynette were born. Lloyd was employed by Northwestern Public Service from 1957 to 1994 as an accountant in Redfield, Chamberlain, and Aberdeen. He remained in Aberdeen until May 2001 when they moved to Spearfish, SD. He remained in the Spearfish area until the time of his passing. Lloyd was an active member of the Jaycees, Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanis, and the United Church of Christ in Chamberlain. In Aberdeen, he was active in the Kiwanis, VFW, Legion, and the First Baptist Church. Lloyd was an avid sports fan including the extracurricular activities of his children and grandchildren. Lloyd is survived by his wife of 60 years, Virginia, Spearfish, SD; sons, Alvin (Rochelle), Pahrump, NV, Paul (Trecia), Chamberlain, SD, Darrell (Sherry), Brookings, SD; daughter, Lynette Gordon, Spearfish, SD; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Rosa (Junker) Eiseman; and 13 brothers and sisters. Condolences may be sent to Virginia Eiseman, 909 Verdale Drive, Spearfish, SD 57783. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, February 9, 2018 at Black Hill National Cemetery with Chaplin (Ret.) Herbert B. Cleveland officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the Sturgis Volunteer Honor Guard and the South Dakota Army National Guard.
