Lynda Grey Owl
Funeral services for Lynda Grey Owl, 30, of Highmore were held on Dec. 2, 2016 at the Crow Creek Tribal Gymnasium at Fort Thompson, with burial in St. John’s Episcopal Cemetery at Crow Creek, SD.
Lynda Jean Grey Owl was born March 14, 1986 to Victoria Isburg and Brandon Grey Owl at Chamberlain, SD. She attended grade school at Fort Thompson Elementary and graduated in 2004 from Highmore High School at Highmore, SD. She was proud to be a "Highmore Pirate". She drew a mural on the high school hallway.
At the age of 19, she became a certified EMT and was also a certified CNA. We were all proud of her.
Lynda played basketball, managed the Pierre McDonald's, and did alot of ranching with her mother and step dad Donnie. Her step mom, Priscilla taught her to bead, which was one of her favorite past times. Her uncles taught her to work on cars. She loved the outdoors, enjoyed music, and was a fan of the Minnesota Vikings.
God blessed her with three son's Conner, Dylan, and Peyton. They were the joy of her life. She loved her boys so very much.
She spent a lot of time with her aunty Suzie, uncle Buff in the Crow Creek District.
Lynda passed away on November 26, 2016 at Fort Thompson at the age of 30 years. Lynda leaves behind her sons Conner, Dylan, and Peyton; her mother Vicky; her father Brandon (Priscilla) Grey Owl; sisters Nicole, Brett, Shelby, Stephanie, and Desarie; brother Mel Ray Grey Owl; aunts Suzie, Anna, Tina; uncle Buff and many cousins, friends, and relatives.
Preceding her in death were her son Robert Lee American Horse, maternal grandparents Bobbie and Wanita Isburg; paternal grandparents Evelyn and Kenny Grey Owl; great gramma "Val"; uncles Gordon and Lyndon; and grandpa Richard Red Horse. She was also preceded in death by her step dad Donnie "Olie" Olson.
Her sweet smile and happy heart will be missed dearly.
