Patsy Stotts, 70, of Pierre, SD, died Monday, June 3 at Avera St. Mary’s Hospital in Pierre. Funeral services were held Saturday, June 8 at Southeast United Methodist Church with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Murdo City Cemetery in Murdo, SD. Online condolences may be written at: www. isburgfuneralchapels.com Patsy was born in Lyman County to James and Mary (McGee) Cummins on October 26, 1948. She grew up on the family homestead in Lyman County and graduated from Kennebec High School. While in Kennebec she worked at Gerry’s Café. She then attended Pierre School of Practical Nursing and became an LPN in August of 1969. She married Eugene “Gene” Stotts at the First United Methodist Church in Pierre on March 14, 1970. They had two sons; Thomas and Chris. She was a nurse at St. Mary’s Hospital for a few years. She also worked at Buhl’s Laundry and sold Avon Products. Patsy liked to read and take part in bible studies. She enjoyed Nascar and game shows on TV and listening to music. She also enjoyed tennis, basketball and going to the beach, swimming. She spent many hours taking her boys to their activities and watching them in sports. Patsy is survived by her children and grandchildren; Thomas (Dulcie) Stotts and their children, Gavin and Makenna, Chris (Amy) Stotts and their children Harlan Stotts, Jake and Josh Kainz and 4 great grandchildren: Avery, Riley, Grayson and Kaylee. She is also survived by her mother, Mary Cummins of Texas, siblings; Verna Pudwill, Barbara Hall, Nancy Goehring, Albert Cummins and Jimmy Cummins. Patsy was preceded in death by her husband Gene Stotts, her father James and her brother Clifford.
