Rosita R. Lends His Horse

Funeral services for Rosita R. Lends His Horse, 44, of Wakpala was held on 11:00 am Thursday, October 20, 2016 at the Lower Brule Community Center in Lower Brule with burial in the Messiah Episcopal Cemetery at Iron Nation, SD. Wake services was held Tuesday and Wednesday evening at 7:00 pm at the Lower Brule Community Center in Lower Brule. Rosita Rae Goodlow was born May 17, 1972 at Chamberlain to Lonnie Goodlow and Katherine (Horn) Goodlow. She was raised by her special aunt Louella Chamberlain. Rosita married Terry Phillips and to this union a daughter Jessica Marie Phillips-Grazier. When she was 20 years old, she met Joseph Lends His Horse, Jr. and were later married. Together they had two sons Joseph III and Johnathan and a daughter Wynette. She received her GED in Aberdeen and then attended college in Sioux Falls. She made her home on and off in Rapid City and later moved to Wakpala where she met Kevin “Fuzz” Thompson. They were together for four years and Kevin loved her with all his heart. She worked at Headstart in Eagle Butte and in Wakpala. She liked to work before she fell and hurt her back at the Golden Living Center in Mobridge. She was always passionate about her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She was a very kind hearted and loving woman that had many friends that liked her company. She was a good pow-wow mother who supported her kids and the good decisions they made. She took care of Brooke Lends His Horse since she was two years old. She always like to look good no matter what the occasion. She liked to go fishing, bead, and spend time with her sisters. She was always a happy person loved to be with her family and cook big meals for them. She was soft spoken with a big heart. Before she passed, she spent a lot of time with her daughter Bubbles. Bubbles moved to Wakpala to be with her mom. Rosita passed away on October 13, 2016 at Wakpala, SD at the age of 44 years. Gratefully sharing her life are her mother Kathy Goodlow; children Joseph III, Johnathan, Wynette, Jessica, and Brooke; grandchildren Anpo St. Pierre, Matthew J. St. Pierre, Jr., Lucrecia Grazier, Sheva Grazier, Vergil Grazier, Anthony Joseph Lends His Horse, and LeRoia Marie Lynn Summers; brothers Austin Erickson and Shane Goodlow; sisters Beverly Clairmont, Lonna Rivers, and Reba Goodlow; and her good childhood friends who remained her close friends to adult years: Amy Jandreau, Lori Gourneau, Michelle Langdeau, Jill Brouse, and a very special friend who became a sister over the years Nikki Ziegler-Whitney. Preceding her in death were her father and grandparents.
