Wake services will be 7:00 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, at the Lower Brule Community Center. Ryan Kasper LeCompte was born in Chamberlain, SD on March 21, 1980 to Darla Langdeaux and Leo LeCompte. He graduated from Lower Brule High School in May of 2000. Ryan enlisted in the US Army on September 11, 2000. From 2000 to 2001 he was stationed in North Korea, served his first tour of Iraq in 2003, rode for the Fort Carson Mounted Color Guard in 2004, and served a second tour of Iraq from 2005 to 2007. Ryan met the love of his life, Tammie on November 4, 2002 and married her on August 14th, 2004. Aside from spending his time with his wife and family, Ryan enjoyed being outdoors. He loved fishing, hunting, camping, and playing pool. Growing up on his Grandpa Orville’s ranch, Ryan developed a true love for horses. He was an inventor of sorts who enjoyed working with his hands, creating his own master pieces; like the time he built a teeter totter that went higher than the house. Ryan spent a lot of his time while growing up with his childhood best friend Leighton LaRoche. He was a true big brother to his five younger siblings whom he tormented at times but always protected. Ryan was a prankster at heart with a great sense of humor. Ryan was avid Dallas Cowboys fan. Ryan’s baby face and shit-eating grin will be greatly missed by every one of his numerous friends and family. Ryan passed away on October 1, 2016 at Mitchell, SD at the age of 36 years. Gratefully having shared his life are parents Darla Langdeaux and Leo LeCompte; three special father figures; his Grandpa Orville, Uncle Red, and Uncle Steve; grandmother Marion LeCompte; children Megan LaRoche, Morgan Daniel, Dakota LeCompte, Lance and Levi Schultz, Blu LeCompte, and Savannah LeCompte; grandchildren Faith Morning Star LeCompte (his lil Toot), Black Cloud LaRoche, Diezel LaRoche, and Aaliah Perez; siblings Beth (Marvin) Parker, Gregory (Megan) LaRoche Jr, Royce LaRoche, Ravyn (Kyle) Fonder, Ramsey LaRoche and many relatives and friends. Preceding him in death were his Grandpa Leo LeCompte Sr; Grandpa Orville Langdeau Sr., Grandma Velma Langdeau; Aunt Desiree Gray, and nephew Tanner Gray
