Chamberlain track teams compete at SDSU indoor event

BROOKINGS – Chamberlain was well represented at the South Dakota State University indoor track event held on Mon., April 3, at the Jack in Brookings. There were over 1000 athletes representing 25 schools from South Dakota, Iowa, and Minnesota. Three Cubs brought home three first place finishes at this track meet and 11 others placed in the top 10 of their events. The Lady Cubs finished fifth as a team, and the boys finished in seventh place.
 
Ella Byers placed first in the 1600 meter run and broke the school record by eight seconds. She also finished first, out of 66 runners in the 800 meter run. Tiegen Priebe outjumped 59 other boys in the long jump with a distance of just over 21 feet. Rich Marone won the triple jump, beating 32 other boys, with a distance of 41 feet 10.5 inches.
