Chamberlain/Kimball baseball team falls to Dakota Central

The baseball season is underway as the Chamberlain/Kimball players suited up and took to Gregg Field on Sun., March 16, to host the opening game of the season against the Dakota Central Varsity team. Dakota Central includes the towns of Wessington Springs and Faulkton.

The opening pitch was delivered by Caden Lenz. Lenz pitched the first four innings throwing 76 pitches with 56 strikes. He had six strike outs, walked one and gave up ten hits and allowed seven runs.

Cole Hickey replaced Lenz in the fifth inning throwing 77 pitches including 38 strikes and struck out four batters, allowed six walks and gave up five hits and six runs in the final three innings. The game was over after seven innings due to the 10-run rule. Dakota Central claimed the victory by a score of 13-2.
