CHS golf team looks to be competitive
Coach Chris Caldwell is beginning his sixth year as the head golf coach of the Chamberlain Cubs. There are six returning letter winners along with three middle school athletes forming the 2019 golf team. Juniors Cameron Caldwell and Drayton Priebe will be leading the team this year. Caldwell took fifth place at the State Class A Golf Tournament last Fall and Drayton Priebe finished in 38th place.
Dakota Munger went out for the first time last season. He picked up the game quickly and has shown tremendous improvement in a year's time. Max Kelsey, Sandler Wiekamp and Eric Strande have also shaved several strokes off their scores over the year. All the boys have grown taller, stronger and can hit the ball further down the fairway. “We should see better scores from these boys this year, and it will help the team totals which is needed to win as a team,” commented Coach Caldwell.
