Cubs advance to Sweet Sixteen

As the No. 1 seed in Region 6A, Chamberlain hosted the Mobridge Tigers in a high school boys basketball semifinal game. The Cubs defeated the Tigers, 69-47 in front of a full house of Cub fans. Seth Friesz scored a gamehigh 28 points. He also had four assists and two steals. Tiegen Priebe worked hard offensively and defensively with, 22 points, eight rebounds, five steals and five assists. Rich Marone had the most rebounds for the Cubs with nine. Mobridge Tiger, Dante Fischer, scored 23 points, nearly half the Tigers' points, in the loss.

Chamberlain opened the game with two quick field goals by Rich Marone and Priebe. Dante Fischer scored two for the Tigers, and Seth Friesz added two for the Cubs. It looked like the score would see-saw back and forth as Fischer hit another two-pointer for Mobridge. As Chamberlain pulled down the rebounds, Mobridge was caught fouling the Cub players. In the first period, the Cubs went to the line eight times and hit five of their free throws. The Tigers did not go to the line at all in the first quarter. At the buzzer, Chamberlain tallied 18 points to the Tigers' 12 points. Fischer had eight points for Mobridge in the opening period.
