SIOUX FALLS – Today was the last time for the Chamberlain Cubs to play together as a team. Four seniors will be graduating leaving a legacy to the underclassmen. Seth Friesz, Tiegen Priebe, Dodge Knippling, and Rich Marone were not going to be denied a win at the State A tournament. They came to the tournament and gave it all they had. They fell short the first two games, but had one more chance to play together and win together. The opponent would be the No. 8 seed, Mt. Vernon/Plankinton, the top seed in Region 5 with a 17-3 record. These two teams were not strangers to each other as the Titans fell to the Cubs in the regular season. It was time for the rematch.
Chamberlain opened the game with a 5-0 run. Tiegen Priebe made the first field goal followed by a Seth Friesz shot from downtown. Senior, Cody Muilenburg of MV/P hit a three-pointer to put the Titans on the board. Dodge Knippling made his first field goal to put the Cubs up 7-3. MV/P scored three points to close the scoring gap to 7-6.
