Cubs football game takes two days due to weather

The premier football game for the Chamberlain Cubs was filled with firsts. It was the first game being coached by head coach, Dan Olson. It was the first time Chamberlain played the Canton C-Hawks, and the first time it would take two days to play a football game. With just over 11 minutes left in the game, the referees called for the delay due to lightning in the vicinity. The game could not be restarted until there was a thirty minute period without lighting being visible. The Canton CHawks had the lead 26-19, with the ball on their own 20-yard line.

The C-Hawks won the coin toss and chose to receive the kick-off. They turned the ball over on downs in their first possession. The Cubs looked as if they would score on their first drive, but after nine plays, Dominguez threw an interception at the two yard-line. Canton was able to capitalize on the turnover when Kaden Verley ran the ball back 98 yards for the first touchdown of the game.
