Cubs heading to State A tournament

PIERRE – On Tues., March 7, the top two teams from Region 6A were competing against each other for the opportunity to advance to the State A tournament in Sioux Falls. The Chamberlain Cubs (18-3) and the Crow Creek Chieftains (14-8) successfully advanced to the Sweet 16 elimination round. The Cubs were the No. 2 Seed and the Chieftains were the No. 17 seed. When the final buzzer sounded at the Riggs High School Gymnasium, the Cubs were given the honor to cut down the net and celebrate their 71-57 win over the Crow Creek Chieftains.
Chamberlain lead throughout the entire game, but the Chieftains gave the Cubs a run for their money several times during the contest. Senior Seth Friesz started the game by draining a three-point shot from the corner.
