Cubs play home opener under new lights

The first home football game was a big event on Fri., Sept 8. to start the evening, the Cubs' Booster Club hosted a tailgate supper. The Cubs defeated the Wagner Red Raiders in three quarters by a score of 56-0, and the field was lit up with the new lights purchased with donations from the Barger Foundation and the Explorers.

Jazz Dominguez threw six touchdown passes and had 351 passing yards. The first touchdown pass was thrown to Marc Schwenk. Schwenk scored of the 45- yard pass and Isaac Hawk kicked the extra point to give the Cubs a 7-0 lead. Jake Mutzinger caught a 65-yard pass for the second touchdown of the evening. Max Donovan kicked the extra point through the uprights to make the score 14-0. The third TD was made by with a 31 yard pass from Dominguez. At the end of the first quarter, the Cubs were ahead of the Red Raiders 20-0.
