Cubs roll past Chieftains
The Chamberlain Cubs hosted the Crow Creek Chieftains in a boys' high school basketball game on Tues., Feb. 5. The Cubs defeated the Chieftains with a score of 75- 53. In the opening quarter, the Cubs had a 20-6 run to give them a 25-10 advantage. The Chieftains came back in the second quarter and out-scored the Cubs 17-to-16 and finished the half trailing 41-27. Crow Creek started the third quarter scoring the first six points and cutting the scoring margin to eight points. Louie Running Horse hit the first Cub field goal to put the Cubs in front by 10 points and struck again to give the Cubs the lead by a dozen. Thigh added a three-pointer followed by a Running Horse twopointer. Kolby Hyland closed the quarter with a deuce to put Chamberlain ahead of Crow Creek, 52- 36. Hayden Evans hit his second outside shot for three points to spark the Cubs into a 23-point fourth quarter. Running Horse added nine points to propel the Cubs to a 75-53 victory.
