Lady Cubs battle back to defeat WildKats
The Lady Cubs hosted the Kimball/White Lake Lady WildKats in an exciting game on Tues., Dec. 20. The Cubs trailed by nine points in the first half, but came out of the locker room looking like a different team. The Lady Cubs won their first game of the season by defeating the WildKats 44-40. Mady Handel and Brenna Comfert were in double figures with 13 and 11 respectively. Sierra Kenobbie and Breanna Comfert had 5 steals each.
For KWL, Brooklyn Donald and Heather Munsen had 11 points each.
KWL took command of the first quarter by scoring 18 points and holding the Lady Cubs to seven. Chamberlain struggled to get their offense going and turned the ball over too many times. KWL was able to out rebound the Lady Cubs and took advantage of the second chance field goals. In the second quarter, both teams scored six points. The Lady Cubs were scoreless in the first few minutes of the period, and KWL could only earn two points. At the half, KWL led Chamberlain 24-13.
After the half time break, Chamberlain's, Brenna Comfert, stepped up to the arch and drained her first 3-pointer. This was to be followed by two more treys from Comfert and two points from Alayne Daly.
