Lady Cubs dominate at the Cecil Johnson Invite
The Chamberlain Cubs traveled to Presho on Thurs., Apr. 25, to compete in the Cecil Johnson Invite along with 14 other area teams. The Chamberlain girls' team topped the field with 132 points, and the boys' team finished in third place with 68 points. Winner took top honors in the boys' division with 108.5 points followed by Wall with 105 points.
The girls' 4x100 M Relay team set a new meet record with a time of 53.43 seconds. Running for the Cubs were Avany Long, Samantha Peppel, Leigha Long, and Makenzie Sorensen.
Nash Hutmacher had a stellar performance with first place finishes in the discus and shot put. Hutmacher broke his own school record in the discus throw and moved into first place rankings at the state level by 10 feet. His throw on Thursday traveled 163.8 feet. In the shot put, he heaved the metal ball 47-11 feet.
