Lady Cubs lose the battle against Gregory Spikers on Thurs. Sept. 27
The Lady Cubs (6-11) put up a fierce fight in a four-set match against the Gregory Spikers (11-6) at the Chamberlain Armory on Thurs., Sept. 27. In the opening set, the Cubs had a six-point scoring run to lead the Spikers, 9-3. Gregory was able to gain three points from hitting errors committed by the Cubs. The Spikers tied the game at 10 and gained an 11-10 lead after having their own six-point scoring run. The lead bounced back a forth, but in the end, Gregory pulled out the victory in set one with a score of 25-22. The second set had the Cubs dominating the Spikers. Chamberlain led the entire game with the Spikers trailing by nine points (19-10) midway through the set. Gregory came back two five-point runs to close the scoring gap to 21-20. Chamberlain held their own and won the set 27-25.
