Lady Cubs move on in Region 6A Tournament

Chamberlain defeated The Mobridge/Pollock Tigers in the first game of the Region 6A tournament on Mon., Feb. 25, at the Chamberlain Armory. Chamberlain will advance to the second round of tournament play taking on the Miller Rustlers on Thurs., Feb. 28, in Miller. The Tigers had the early lead, outscoring the Lady Cubs 8-2 in the opening minutes of the game. The Lady Cubs tied the game at 8 after field goals by Mady Handel and Hannah Anderson followed by Avany Long completing a free throw. Anderson and Handel continued to score bringing the score to 16-10. The first period was about to expire when Taylor Toering came off the bench and drained a three to give the Lady Cubs a 19-10 advantage. Coach Neuharth had this to say, “Mobridge/ Pollock Started the game well but the girls kept their composure and were able to make great plays all game.”
