Lady Cubs win 3-of-4 sets against Lady Falcons
The Todd County Lady Falcons came to the Chamberlain Armory to battle the Lady Cubs in a high school volleyball game on Tues., Sept. 11. The sets were close, 28-26, 22-25, 25-18, and 25-17. In the first set, the Falcons took the lead and forced the Lady Cubs to come from behind to win. Todd County made several errors and then Hannah Anderson hit a kill to take the lead, 22-21. Todd Co. made two hitting errors to give the Cubs their biggest lead. Mady Handel finished the set with two kills and then the Falcons had a net violation to give the Lady Cubs a 28-16 victory. The visitors took an early lead in the second set and the home team could not overcome their deficit.
The Cubs closed the scoring gap at 12-14, but the Lady Falcons went on an a ninepoint run before the Lady Cubs earned a point via a TC serving error. The Cubs came back with a ten-point run to bring the score to 21- 22, but the Falcons pulled out the 22-25 victory. Chamberlain was able to hold Todd County to five points as they tallied 11 at the start of set 3. They went on a six-point run to move the score to 17-8. Chamberlain handed Todd County a 25-18 loss. Needing to win one more set, the Lady Cubs took the lead with Mady Handel's three consecutive aces.
