Lady Raiders rally to defeat Lady Cubs
The girls' basketball game between I-90 rivals, the Lyman Lady Raiders and the Chamberlain Lady Cubs, was another exciting game with the Lady Raiders coming back in the fourth quarter to claim a 60-53 victory on Mon., Feb.10 at the Chamberlain Armory.
Lyman came out strong in the opening quarter with a seven-point lead at the end of the period.
The Lady Cubs rallied in the second period and came to within one point after Mya Knippling scored on two field goals. The scoreboard displayed 17-18 before the Lady Raiders added a quick six points. Knippling scored again, but Kayt Garnos hit a three-point field goal and was later fouled and made both free throws to give Lyman a ten-point advantage. The Lady Cubs went on their own ten-point run at the end of the quarter with Emma Powers scoring two, followed by Knippling's two and Hannah Anderson hitting a three-pointer to make the score 24-29. Knippling made an offensive rebound and put the ball back in and just before the buzzer, Powers hit a three-point field goal to tie the game at 29.
