Long chosen as outstanding athlete at Lezlie Blasius Memorial Track Meet
Chamberlain participated at the Lezlie Blasius Memorial Track Meet held in Kimball on Friday, May 10. Eleven teams were in attendance and at the end of the meet, coaches from each team nominated an athlete for the Outstanding Athletes of the meet. This year Avany Long received the honor and JD Carter from Stanley County was awarded the award for the boys.
Winning the meet for the girls was the home team, Kimball/White Lake with 128 points. Chamberlain was second with 119 points. For the boys, James Valley Christian scored 100 points for first followed by Stanley County with 96 points. Chamberlain tallied 4 points in the contest. Makenzie Sorensen sprinted for first place in the 100 M Dash with a time of 12.99. Randa Haak ran the distance in 15.54, Autumn Kurtz recorded at time of 16.31, and Scotland Donovan finished in 16.79. In the 200 M Dash, Caycee Guinn was fourth with a time of 28.14, Samantha Peppel came in fifth (28.17), and Hannah Anderson 7th (28.92). Other Chamberlain athletes in the 200 were Randa Haak (33.95), Autumn Kurtz (34.61) and Scotland Donovan (36.06)
