New philosophy for the 2018 football team
“One second, One minute, One hour, One day, One game, One Play at a time.” That's how Chamberlain is approaching the 2018 Football season,” stated the new head football coach, Mr. George Caine. Coach Caine believes that in order to develop a winning program, you must have a great foundation.
“The Cubs are pouring that foundation for success starting with, “Family”, stated Caine.
The Cubs' common goal is success. Becoming a team -- a family, is one way to achieve the common goal. 16 Goals for Success, a program implemented at Kansas State University by head coach Bill Snyder, is a program that Coach Caine will use to teach his young players the steps towards achieving success. Snyder's 16 steps include; Commitment, Unselfishness, Unity, Improve everyday, Be tough, Self-discipline, Great effort, Enthusiasm, Eliminate mistakes, Never give up, Don't accept losing, No selflimitations, Expect to win, Consistency, Leadership, Responsibility.
The team graduated six seniors last spring. Five wide receivers will be missing from the team this year; Carson Powers, Marc Schwenk, Riggs Priebe Jake Mutzinger, and Dilen Anderson. Jett Evans, a valuable running back, also graduated.
