Winner defeats Cubs 36-13

The Chamberlain Cubs traveled to Winner on Fri., Sept. 29, to try and squash a homecoming victory for the Warriors. The Cubs failed to stop the Warriors from scoring 36 points in the game. The Warriors, the 2016 State 11B Champions, are currently seeded in the number one position with 4 wins and one loss, which puts them into the playoffs. Chamberlain needs two wins to get into the playoffs, and their next two competitors in the regular season are Mt. Vernon/ Plankinton (3-3) and Stanley County (5-1).

In Friday's game, the Warriors rushed for 324 yards in their win against the Cubs. Chamberlain had a total of 133 passing yards to the Warriors 21 passing yards. In game, Winner had 23 first downs to the Cubs 9. Neither team had a turnover, but nine penalties plagued the Cubs for 61 yards and the Warriors had five penalties for 45 yards.
