On Fri., Feb. 14, the State Class A Gymnastics Team Competition was held in Aberdeen. Chamberlain was less than four tenths behind Wagner/Bon Homme and, less than two points from bringing home a State meet plaque. Hot Spring took the sixth-place plaque. The Lady Bison have always been a nemesis for the Lady Cubs outscoring them by a couple of points. Hopefully, next year, all the gymnasts are healthy, and Chamberlain will be able to outscore Hot Springs.
The girls' basketball game between I-90 rivals, the Lyman Lady Raiders and the Chamberlain Lady Cubs, was another exciting game with the Lady Raiders coming back in the fourth quarter to claim a 60-53 victory on Mon., Feb.10 at the Chamberlain Armory.
The Region 2 gymnastics meet was held at the Chamberlain Armory on Fri., Feb. 7. There were seven teams, with 55 gymnasts. The Lady Cubs finished in third place, punching their ticket to the State Gymnastics Meet in Aberdeen on Fri., Feb. 14 and Sat., Feb. 15. Attending the state meet will be Amelia Jones, Allison Hough, Emily Shepherd, Melaya Dominguez, Jane Skustad, Kathrinn Hopkins. Grace DuVall, and Mianna Tveit.
Chamberlain's Lady Cubs traveled to Madison to play in a non-conference girls' basketball game on Tues., Jan. 28. The Lady Bulldogs (4-6) fell to the Lady Cubs (3-6) by two points, 44-42.
Hayden Evans scored 19 points including five, 3-point field goals in the boys' basketball game held at the Chamberlain Armory on Tues., Jan. 28, against the Madison Bulldogs.
